Common questions
Troubleshooting
Reminders access is off or limited.
Open Todo Assist and choose Settings. Under Permissions, check the Reminders status. If access is off or Write Only, tap Open iOS Settings and allow Full Access for Todo Assist. Full Access is needed to choose and update a Reminders list. If access is restricted, check Screen Time or device-management settings.
Turning off Reminders access does not delete Reminders lists or tasks. To remove a chosen list from Todo Assist, open the list, choose List options, then Remove from Todo Assist. The list and its tasks stay in Reminders. If a Reminders list is no longer available, it may have been deleted or removed in Reminders. Choose another available Reminders list in Todo Assist.
What changes in a task From Reminders?
Changes to a task From Reminders update the same item in Apple Reminders, including its title, notes, completion, due date, repeat setting, URL, location, priority, due alert, and arrive/leave alarm. Categories and tags stay in Todo Assist. Completing a task does not delete it. Deleting a task From Reminders deletes the corresponding reminder, and Todo Assist offers Restore.
Todo Assist lists aren’t updating between devices.
Todo Assist lists update through your private iCloud account on signed-in physical devices with a network connection. Open Todo Assist, choose Settings, and check the account shown under iCloud. When the account is available, tap Check for updates. If it is unavailable, sign in to iCloud in the Settings app.
Sharing a Todo Assist list also requires an available iCloud account. A list uses shared iCloud storage only after you choose to share it. Reminders lists stay in Reminders and depend on the accounts configured there. Simulator data stays on that Mac and does not update through iCloud.
A due alert or arrive/leave alarm didn’t fire.
For a due alert on a Todo Assist task, open Todo Assist and choose Settings. If Notifications says Not set up, tap Set up notifications, then Continue. If notifications are off or delivered quietly, tap Open iOS Settings and turn on the notification options you want. A task From Reminders uses Reminders for its due alert, so also check that task and the Reminders notification settings.
An arrive/leave alarm on a Todo Assist task needs Always location access and notifications. In Todo Assist Settings, tap Set up location if offered. If location access is off, tap Open iOS Settings and allow Always access. If access is restricted, check Screen Time or device-management settings. iOS controls delivery timing, so an alert may not appear at the exact moment you expect.
The Home Screen widget is empty or out of date.
Open Todo Assist once after adding the widget so it can prepare the latest tasks. If the widget still does not update after you open the app, remove the widget, add it again, and open Todo Assist once more. Small and medium widgets can follow specific lists or categories — edit the widget on the Home Screen to change those filters.
What do Today and streak chips do?
On Inbox, Today and streak appear as small chips at the top. They show today’s completions and your current streak. Tap either chip to open Profile for charts and more detail. Progress works whether or not you use Sign in with Apple.
Sign in with Apple or Profile identity.
Sign in with Apple is optional. It keeps a name (and optional photo you choose) with your Profile across devices signed in to the same iCloud account. It does not replace iCloud list sync, and you can use Inbox and Lists without signing in. To sign out, open Profile or Settings and choose Sign out — that clears the in-App profile and does not sign you out of iCloud.
What does deleting or removing data do?
Remove from Todo Assist keeps the Reminders list and its tasks in Reminders. Deleting a task From Reminders deletes that reminder and offers Restore. Deleting a Todo Assist list deletes that list and its tasks from Todo Assist and updates iCloud when available. People with access to the list may lose access. Restore can recover the list and tasks, but it does not restore prior sharing or participants.
Delete all data deletes Todo Assist data from this device and updates iCloud when available. It does not delete Reminders lists or tasks. Data from Todo Assist lists shared with other people may remain in iCloud. If the result is unclear, send the details through the contact form.
What devices does Todo Assist support?
Todo Assist runs on iPhone with iOS 26.0 or later and on iPad with iPadOS 26.0 or later. Use a physical device for iCloud updates and reliable testing of notification delivery or arrive/leave alarms.
